The Korea Wrestling Association announced on Feb. 22 that it has launched a donation campaign, “Our Dad, Our Son’s Olympics,” to support Kim Seung-joon (Seongshin Yangkhoe) and Lee Seung-chan (Gangwon Athletic Association) as they compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“Those who participate in the campaign will receive a sports tape with a supportive phrase,” the association said, adding that the money raised will be used to support national training, foster up-and-coming athletes, and host the Korea Open.
Korea Wrestling will send two athletes to the Paris Games, Kim Seung-jun in the men’s Greco-Roman 97-kilogram category and Lee Seung-chan in the 130-kilogram category.
The two wrestlers showed their determination for the Games through the fundraising campaign website (https://box.donus.org/box/wrestling/cheering).
“After I injured my knee in 2017, I went through a five-year slump, gaining more than 30 kilograms in weight,” said Kim. ”It was very hard mentally, but I was able to overcome it thanks to my mother, who came up from her hometown of Busan at dawn to cheer me on until her throat was torn. I will play this Olympics with my mom in mind,” he said.
“I was very tempted to give up on sports, but thanks to my wife’s support, I was able to get a ticket to the Olympics,” Lee said, adding, ”I will leave no regrets in Paris.” 카지노사이트
