Rating 10 out of 10, more attacks than Son Heung-min

Ollie Watkins is the man of the match in the Premier League (PL) this round after a scorching run of goals.

Football stats site WhoScored.com released its best eleven for the seventh round of the PL on Wednesday (Aug. 3). There were four Arsenal players on the list. Gabriel Jesus, Martin Ødegaard, Ben White, and David Luiz made the list. James Ward-Prowse and Nayef Aggerd (both West Ham United), Bruno Guimarães (Newcastle United) and Joachim Andersen (Crystal Palace) also made the cut.

With a rating of 10 out of 10, Watkins caught my eye the most. Watkins has been a mainstay for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. After finding the back of the net in the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) but not in the PL this season, Watkins scored his first PL goal in the last game against Chelsea. He carried that form into the Brighton game.

Watkins scored a hat trick. He scored twice in the first 21 minutes, then converted a John McGinn pass 20 minutes into the second half to make it 3-1 on an own goal by Peris Estupinan and a goal by Ansu Pati. Watkins added an assist on a Jacob Ramsey goal in the 40th minute. Douglas Lewis added a brace and Villa cruised to a 6-1 victory over Brighton. With their third straight win, Villa moved up to fifth in the standings.

Watkins, who was involved in four of Villa’s six goals, received a rating of 10. The BBC named Watkins to its PL Team of the Week, saying, “I don’t know what happened to Brighton. They conceded three goals in 15 minutes. Watkins was the key for Villa, as if he was turning everything into gold. He scored a hat-trick, so he should be in the team of the week. It was a bit of a lucky break, actually.”

‘WhoScored.com’ also said: “Watkins is the PL player of the week. His best performance came against Brighton, where he scored a hat-trick and then set 메이저토토사이트 up Ramsey’s goal. He also had five key passes and two successful dribbles in a stunning performance.”

With seven attacking points (four goals, three assists) to date, Watkins is second in the PL in attacking points behind Elling Holland (nine). He is ahead of Son Heung-min, who has six unassisted points. Mohamed Salah has the same number. Villa will be looking to use Watkins to crack the top half of the table.
