NCSOFT has implemented a series of shakeups at its global offices as part of the gaming giant’s efforts to revamp its global strategies.
The company announced, Monday, that it has appointed game publishing expert Jin Jeong-hee as the new CEO of NC America. Jin previously served as CEO of the U.S. offices of major Korean game studios, including Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss.
With over 15 years of leadership experience in both Western and Korean gaming companies, Jin is expected to leverage her expertise in game publishing and global business expansion in the North American market, NCSOFT said.
NC Japan and NC Taiwan will be led by Lim Won-ki, who currently serves as the company’s chief business management officer. NC West, which oversees NC America and NC Europe, will be managed by NCSOFT’s co-CEO, Park Byung-moo.
The new appointees will each replace NCSOFT Senior Vice President Kim Taek-heon, who previously led NC America, NC Japan and NC Taiwan, and NC West President Yoon Song-yee. Kim is a younger brother of the company’s founder Kim Taek-jin, and Yoon is the founder’s wife.
The company has traditionally been a family-run business, with key positions held by the Kim family. However, as part of its global expansion 추천 efforts, the younger Kim and Yoon stepped down from their roles as chief publishing officer and chief strategy officer, respectively, in January. Since then, they have focused on overseeing the company’s international units.
NCSOFT said the shakeup aims to foster new growth and enhance global capabilities, with a focus on strengthening each local office.
“I am delighted to join NCSOFT’s global growth strategy,” Jin, the new NC America CEO, said. “I will do my utmost to ensure that NCSOFT’s game development capabilities and values are more widely recognized on the global stage and to help the company reach new heights.”
