The Korean Sports Council has confirmed the sports and players it will support intensively,
targeting the Paris Summer Olympics to be held in July.
According to the Korea Sports Council on the 9th, 199 days before the Paris Olympics,
which opens on July 26, the Sports Council held a performance improvement committee at the end of last year to decide on the sports and size of athletes to support for the Paris Olympics. 먹튀검증가이드
Leading national team players challenging for the gold medal at the Paris Olympics were all included,
including Woo Sang-hyuk (track and field), Hwang Sun-woo and Kim Woo-min (swimming),
Ahn Se-young (badminton), and Shin Yu-bin (table tennis).
An official from the Sports Association said,
“We selected about 20 candidates who are expected to win medals at the Olympics.
For example, in the past, all athletes representing each event went to overseas training,
but this time, only those hopefuls for Olympic medals in each event were selected separately and allowed to train overseas and participate in competitions.
“The difference is that we provide intensive support,” he explained.
Wrestling has been completely excluded from strategic training sports, and in judo, about three people,
led by Lee Jun-hwan, are sponsored by the Sports Association.
The Sports Association expected archery, fencing, badminton, swimming, and taekwondo to be medal sports at the Paris Olympics.
Fencing, archery, taekwondo and swimming played a leading role for the Korean team at last year’s Hangzhou Asian Games.
There were 21 gold medals in just 4 sports, including 6 gold medals each in fencing and swimming.
Korea’s shuttlecock, led by ‘fighting spirit warrior’ Ahn Se-young, also regained Korea’s medal box status with the Asian Games.
In order to support the national team’s performance at this year’s Olympics, the Sports Council established a pre-training camp and meal support center at the French National Defense Sports Center (CNSD) near Paris for the first time in 12 years since the 2012 London Olympics.
