The professional soccer ‘promotion war’ begins with the semi-playoffs (PO) between Gyeongnam FC and Bucheon FC in the K League 2 (2nd Division).

With Gimcheon Commerce winning the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 regular season and securing ‘direct promotion’ to the K League 1 (1st Division) next season, the PO will be played for the two remaining promotion tickets.

Busan I-Park, which finished second to Gimcheon, will play home and away against the 11th-place team in the K League 1 on December 6 and 9 for the promotion PO.

The third through fifth-ranked teams in K League 2 can qualify for the promotion PO against the 10th-ranked team in K League 1 through the semi-PO and PO.
