SEOUL (Yonhap) – South Korea’s Shin Sumin (Seoul Chego) won a silver medal in the women’s individual event at the Modern Pentathlon U-19 World Championships.Shin totaled 1,385 points in five events – fencing, swimming, laser run (shooting plus athletics) and obstacle discipline – to finish second behind Malak Ismail (Egypt – 1,391 points) in the women’s individual event at the championships in Istanbul, Turkey, on Sept. 29 (local time).It was South Korea’s second medal at the event after Lee Ju-chan (Seoul Cheongo) and Cho Han-seo (Busan Cheongo) won the men’s relay.Shin Sumin, who won the girls’ individual title in both the U-17 and U-19 온라인카지노 categories at last year’s World Youth Championships, missed out on a win this time around, but showed her promise by finishing on the podium, even with the introduction of a new obstacle event.In the men’s individual competition, Lee Ju-chan was the best South Korean finisher with an eighth-place finish.South Korea finished fourth in the men’s and women’s team events.The team will go for a medal in the mixed relay, the final event of the Games on Tuesday, with Shin Soo-min and Lee Hwan-hee (Seoul Chego).
